It isn’t a secret that I’m a sucker for a Franciscan Gardens wedding, but throw in a couple like Rachelle and Ramsen and I am SOLD! Like, put me in coach… I’m ready to not only photograph a beautiful couple but also have so much fun MYSELF because they have the best energy! Their entire day from start to finish was just the best. So many amazing moments, laughs, happy tears, and the most insane dance floor (complete with CO2 cannons like you see in Vegas nightclubs)!
Here’s a little from the bride herself!
How We Met:
We met in college and were friends before we started dating. It continues to be a debate as to who made the first move, but Ramsen insists it was Rachelle! Needless to say, it was not love at first sight. And although we don’t have a romantic love story, Ramsen is a true romantic. He proposed at sunset on our private balcony overlooking the ocean along the coast of Italy in Cinque Terre. After 11 years of dating, living in 5 different cities, and moving nearly 10 times — we finally tied the knot! We share a passion for traveling, cooking, drinking (haha), and just spending quality time together.
We envisioned an intimate celebration with our family and closest friends, and wanted all elements of the wedding to feel unique and personalized to us. We served our favorite foods from all of our travels, had our mutual best friend marry us, and used a ring Ramsen gave Rachelle over 10 years ago as her wedding band. It was also important to incorporate both of our cultures (Chinese, Japanese, and Assyrian) and religious backgrounds, as we joined our families together and displayed how two people from such different backgrounds can have such a strong and loving relationship. Our top priority was for everyone to feel relaxed, enjoy the day, and have a party!
Some of our favorite parts of our big day 🙂
-Having friends/family from every point of our lives present, and all partying together.
-Our grand entrance! We love how everyone came together to bring an Assyrian wedding tradition to life, with the dancing, scarves, and over-the-top energy. It was beyond anything we could have imagined.
-Last but not least, the CO2 cannons! Words can’t describe this one 🙂
Enjoy a few of my favorite pictures from that day!
