Brian and Lori’s wedding was one of my favorites of 2016! Their venue, The Colony House, was gorgeous, their color scheme was perfect, and Lori’s dress was jaw-dropping. I arrived to photograph Lori and her girls getting ready and it was just about the calmest and most relaxed hour ever! All of them had their makeup and hair all done and we had plenty of time for detail shots, jumping on the bed, and champagne :).
One specific moment that I personally loved happened a few minutes before the ceremony began. Guests were trickling into their seats and Lori was hidden away upstairs. She could hear the happy chatter of her friends and family downstairs, knowing that, in just a little, she would be holding tight to her dad as she walked down the aisle. I asked her if she was feeling ready and she told me quietly that she just wanted to remember this moment. To soak in exactly how she felt at that time to remember forever. I’m a very sentimental person, so this resonated hard with me. Wanting to hold tight to a moment and feeling and engrain it in your memory. To not let is disappear or fade. That is exactly why I love photography so much. Photos let us steal from time. To make moments permenant and be able to relive them whenever we want. Photography is so precious and it is one of the biggest honors of my life to be able to capture these moments through the weddings, engagements, and families who trust me to do so.
Enough of me blabbering! I’m sure you guys want to get to the good stuff- the photos! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their big day! xoxo
Excuse me while I CRY over her first look with her dad!!
Okay, so Lori was just the FUNNIEST bride. I was smiling and laughing the whole time just watching her have the best time ever. Those expressions hahah! I love.
