Jaime and Justin’s Rancho Las Lomas wedding was so much fun to capture and –holy cow– check out how beautiful their photos turned out! They did such an amazing job planning out all the details perfectly, and on the day of, they were relaxed, stress-free, and focused on having the best day ever with their friends and family. I love when I leave a wedding day knowing that it was absolutely perfect for my bride and groom :).
Their wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty (which is a HUGE honor!) and I feel so lucky that they chose me to be involved in such a huge, monumental day. Grateful would be an understatement!
Here’s a little tidbit from this fairytale love story from the bride herself!
How did you meet? We actually both went to the same high school and both went to college in Chicago but didn’t meet until after college when we both moved back home to Orange County. One of our mutual friends from high school introduced us and the rest is history! Timing is everything 🙂
Justin told me that he had to go to New York for a business trip and asked if I would like to tag along. New York is our favorite place so I, of course, said yes. On our first day there, he headed off to his business meeting, but he was actually secretly meeting with a photographer who would shoot the proposal. A few months prior, we had stumbled upon the most beautiful spot in Central Park. When he decided that that was where he wanted to propose, he went back to New York and spent hours walking around the park until he found the spot again.
Whenever we’re in NY, we love to get dressed up and go out to a nice dinner, so that night we got dressed up and headed out. When we got to the restaurant early, Justin asked if I wanted to walk around Central Park to kill time. I instantly felt the mood change when we walked into the park but I wasn’t sure what was going on. The next thing I know, we’re standing in our favorite spot in the park and Justin says he has something really important to ask me. I instantly started crying- like ugly crying haha! He got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and I, of course, said yes (several times)! After the proposal, he took me to a restaurant where we were going to celebrate with his family (they were in town visiting his brother). But when I got there, Justin surprised me with my parents who had secretly flown in from California. It was the perfect proposal 🙂
We really wanted our wedding to feel magical and like most girls, I wanted to feel like a princess on my wedding day. Like something out of a Disney movie, minus any actual Disney references. My dress was designed by Hayley Paige and appropriately named the “Markle Gown.” When you’re looking for a princess ball gown and fall in love with one that’s named after a real-life princess, you know you found the one! As for the venue, Rancho Las Lomas already has a fairytale-esque vibe to it so we didn’t have to do much to get that magical feeling we were looking for! We both agreed on a summery, pastel color scheme that would complement the venue. We had an amazing vendor team and they all did a wonderful job bringing our vision to life!
Special moments from our wedding day:
– Justin and I wrote our own vows but decided to read them to each other privately after the ceremony. We loved having a moment alone together and it was so special to hear the vows we’d written for each other.
– Music is very important to us so that was a big part of our wedding. We had a string quartet play music from some of our favorite movies like Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet for our ceremony. For cocktail hour, we had mariachis to entertain our guests. My parents had mariachis at their wedding and I always knew I wanted to have them at mine too. For the reception and after-party, we had an amazing DJ.
– For our last song of the night, we decided on “Shallow” from A Star is Born. When the song started playing, we noticed that there was some kind of audio playing over the song – it took us a minute, but we realized that it was actually our vows. Our DJ had recorded them during the ceremony and played them over the intro of the song. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room! It was one of our favorite moments.”
